Studies have shown that music promotes increased brain activity and can help with communication, attention and sound sensitivities. The Listening Program (TLP) is a music therapy training program developed by Advanced Brain Technologies to help reduce stress levels and improve executive functions in adults and children. TLP creates classical-sounding music designed with specific frequencies to strengthen connections in the brain and promote healthy neural connections.
Many individuals who struggle with auditory processing disorders are of normal intelligence and hearing sensitivity, but have an impaired ability to attend to, discriminate, recognize, remember or comprehend auditory information. Because of its ability to stimulate a variety of brain activity, TLP has been shown to be effective in addressing a multitude of challenges.
The Listening Program helps address and support a variety of developmental and processing disorders:

How TLP Works
TLP improves brain health as a sound brain fitness program. “Sound brain fitness” is the idea that brain performance can be maintained or improved by engaging in healthy sound practices, similar to the way that physical fitness is improved by exercising the body. TLP involves listening to acoustically-modified instrumental music through Waves™ multi-sensory audio system to reduce stress, improve focus, self-regulation, learning, memory and more.
TLP can benefit most anyone and applications are wide ranging, from rehabilitation to wellness and peak performance. The program can be used in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, therapy clinics, assisted living facilities, companies, athletic and music programs, on military bases and even in your home.
Because of its proven effectiveness, many occupational therapists use music for children with special needs like autism and developmental delays. A majority of children who complete TLP show improvements in selective attention, attention maintenance and a greater tolerance for external auditory stimuli, or “cafeteria” noise. Progress often continues for two to nine months after the program has stopped, as evidenced in a University of Sheffield study analyzing students with auditory processing disorders.
Completion of TLP can improve your ability to process language at normal speaking rates, boost your reading and spelling level, help you stay organized and complete difficult tasks, and increase your focus while reducing stress and anxiety.
